From Ambala, leave as early as possible. The roads here are the smoothest ones that you will find in your entire trip. Wide highways till Kiratpur saheb and after that a ghat of almost 20-30 kms called Swar Ghat.
Just before Bilaspur there are many small guest houses the first one we found vacant is mentioned in the schedule.
Day 2. Bilaspur To Manali
Leave early morning (i.e. by 6 am ). One will find a muddy road for 20 kms but after that the roads that travel through cities are smooth till Manali. I wouldn't recommend you to book your hotel before hand at Manali because there are many hotels on Mall Road for cheap.
Day 3. Manali To Jispa
Please note you need to take a permit from Manali (for bikes as well as cars) which is RS 200 per bike.
The registration starts at 10 am .
We left Manali by 11 am after the registration. The route is Manali-Khoksar-Tandi-Keylong-Jispa
From Rohtang to Khoksar will be the most tiring patch of your journey. Halt at Khoksar (A small but beautiful village ) for lunch.. Dont expect any huge restaurant but the small dhabas with their local food.
Once you cross khoksar the patch is well maintained uptill Tandi. At Tandi you need to refuel your tank and some canisters for next 360 kms.
From tandi to jispa , it is just mere question of 30mins you reach jispa where you have beautiful camping spots available for very cheap at per person cost,if you carry your own tent the local just charge 200 bucks for their land .
