Acting
Hats Off to Matt Damon. This might be one of his best performances so far and he would find it very hard to beat this one! Some of his scenes will make you feel his pain and agony rooted deep inside him .
The supporting characters also played genuinely a decent part.
80/100 for the actors.

Direction
Ridley Scott's vision of the movie from the book is mind bogling!
100/100 for direction.

Dialogues
Nothing great about the dialogues. I guess no importance was given to this part of the movie.
Actual over repetition of the same dialogues about "" music choice made it even worse
40/100 for dialogues.

Screenplay
Screenplay was fascinating.
VFX were great but its nothing new for Hollywood. They are been doing an awesome job in terms of vfx for a decade now. But some scenes of the movie were too good to be expressed in words.
The opening scene , where we see a tiny vehicle roving on the surface of mars and then an astronaut steps out of it to leave u amazed by the size of the "red" mountains in the background!!
Cinematographer did awesome job here!
MUST WATCH IN 3D.
95/100

Editing
Editing couldn't have been better. There was not a single scene that could have been dropped out of the movie.
95/100

Story
The movie starts with a futuristic concept of when human have reached mars physically and not via the rovers like today.
The team on mars decide to evacuate and return immediately since there is a forecast of a storm which they cannot handle.
The entire team moves towards their space ship when the communication channel gets detached and strikes "Mark Watney" in his stomach. Mark gets pulled away by the immense force of the storm.
The rest of the team considers him dead and captain orders to launch.
Later we find out the Mark is still alive with only limited supply of his needs to survive.
The entire story revolves around Mark's quest of survival in a stranded planet millions of kilometers away from home .
Cannot reveal the details as i dont wanna give any spoilers away!
70/100

Overall
It is a must watch movie for all space lunatics. Go with your friends and enjoy the expireance in 3D!

Verdict
My rating is 4.5/5.

THE TATA SKY + TRANSFER

People especially in Mumbai have to travel a lot on a daily basis.

We as Mumbaikars spend on an average 4 hours a day on travelling after a 9 hour shift of work.

Getting time to watch favorite shows on T.V. is quite difficult (except on weekends).

What is the only mode of entertainment during this time of commute ?
Yes, your mobile phone!

I literally stock up my phone with many movies and episodes of my favorite shows.

But I miss watching some shows which get telecast everyday.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

Plot
After having escaped the Maze, the Gladers now face a new set of challenges on the open roads of a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles.

Cast

Dylan O'Brien                       ...  Thomas
Ki Hong Lee                          ...  Minho
Kaya Scodelario                    ... Teresa
Thomas Brodie-Sangster       ... Newt
Dexter Darden                      ... Frypan
Alexander Flores                   ... Winston
Jacob Lofland                        ... Aris Jones

Acting
Actors did their job here with excellence.
I could not tell whose performance was better among all as each and every character played their part with immense depth.

Direction
Direction was one similar to the previous part. i have only one complain with the director that is repeated use of OTS shots. Other than that he has done an awesome job here

Dialogues
Nothing great about the dialogues. I guess no importance was given to this part of the movie.
Screenplay
Screenplay was fascinating.

VFX were great but its nothing new for Hollywood. They are been doing an awesome job in terms of vfx for a decade now.

Editing
Editing could have been better. There was a scene where our lead caharacter gets high at some rave party club kinda place, the entire scene cud have been droped. Also i felt the climax of the movie was too stretched.

Story
Movie continues from where it was left at the first part.Thomas finds his friends and himself in a dorm with other immunes. He later finds out it is controlled by WCKD (world catastrophe killzone department) i.e. "the bad guys". The movie revolves around their escape where they try to reach to the "Right Arm" i,e, the good guys. During this journey they meet many interesting characters.Movie ends at a very high note where WKCD destroys the entire base of The Right Arms but some how most of the characters survive the ambush and take an oath to take their revenge.

Overall
The movie in terms of acting and writing is a job done good. But VFX makes a mark here.

If you are a SCI-FI fan,you would like the movie.

Verdict
SCI-FI and thriller fans would love it.
My rating is 4/5.

We Are Your Friends review

Plot
Caught between a forbidden romance and the expectations of his friends, aspiring DJ Cole Carter attempts to find the path in life that leads to fame and fortune.

Cast

Zac Efron
...
Cole

Wes Bentley
...
James

Emily Ratajkowski
...
Sophie

Jonny Weston
...
Mason

Shiloh Fernandez
...
Ollie

Alex Shaffer
...
Squirrel

Jon Bernthal
...
Paige

Alicia Coppola
...
Mrs. Romero

Acting
Acting in this movie was pretty decent which was needed by the script. The central character “Cole” was played Zac Efron and he played the role at his 100% potential. Wes Bently had to play a character of a alcoholic EDM star which he did excellently.

Direction
Direction could have been better. Pretty usual camera angles. However shots about Cole high on drugs looked real and one could relate him/herself.
We have seen much greater and appreciate able work in past.

Dialogues
Lines were nicely written.
Key dialogues were been highlighted perfectly.

Screenplay
Execution of the movie was done poorly .Screenplay was the only part where the movie lacked its potential.
Some scenes were just a drag.
But the climax was awesome.

Editing
There is not much to talk about editing here. There was not much scope of showing editing skills here.

Story
The movie revolves around a DJ artist trying to make it big. He is in search of that “one track” that would turn his life around. Everyday experiences and his relationship with his friends play a vital role for him achieving that track.
Along with this journey a couple of vaguely related stories are incorporated.
There are few high points in the movie except those the graph of the movie is pretty much constant.

Music
EDM fans are going to love this movie!
Awesome and original EDM tracks make this movie worth watching.

Overall
The movie in terms of acting and writing is a job done good.
But I would call it a "one time watch movie".

Verdict
Despite the movie got thrashed by critics in the states , I as a fan of EDM loved the movie.
Rating by me would be 3/5 .

The path of Zarathustra Movie Review

Plot
A young woman, Oorvazi, born into Zoroastrianism, the religion of her forefathers leaves the isolation of her remote home when her grandfather with whom she lives alone dies.

Cast
Oorvazi Irani as Oorvazi

Tom Alter as Grandfather

Rushad Rana as Perseus

Shishir Sharma as Zurvan

Darius Shroff as the Intellectual and Mazdak

Firdausi Jussawalla as Mani and the Beggar

Vivek Tandon as Kardir

Acting
Tom alter did a great job!
The central character was played by the  director herself, considering that,I think her performance should have been much better .
Her dialogue delivery in terms of pace was too slow  . There were too much of unwanted pauses during the on going  conversations.
The character opposite to Oorvazi was played by Rushad Rana . He did a fairly good job.
Rest all the characters were played pretty well.

Direction
Direction of movie was nothing to boast about but was good (people have  done far better work).

Dialogues
Narration of the movie was done by the director herself and the writing was very elequent and the dialogues of the characters sounded more like you read in a book.

Screenplay
Screenplay was really very good.
With appropriate  lights and decent camera angles, the shots were looking nice visually.
But too much of pretentious shots of d waves and d sun could have been avoided.

Editing
Editing of this movie is done excellently. No useless scenes are present in the reel.
Again unwanted scenic shots should have been avoided.

Story
The movie starts at a high point where Tom Alter a Parsi is the grandfather  of our central character is on his death bed .
He gives his grand daughter(Oorwasi) a book. A book with insights on the history of their religion.
But the contents of d book can be explained to her only by someone special.
Oorwasi starts her journey in search of that special person.
The entire story revolves around that book and the people her imagination creates.
Story can be quite confusing for a non Parsi.
However with some basics about the religion the story is written quite good.

Overall
The pace of the movie is a little slow but this slow pace is needed by the plot.
Performance by Oorwasi could have been better ,there are no other flaws in the movie .

Verdict
Rating by me would be 3/5 .
